PBIS
What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports and is a school wide framework where the approach is to prevent or reduce challenging behaviors and produce positive outcomes.
Goals of PBIS
Improve the climate of the school by establishing a learning environment that is positive, preventative, and predictable to improve student behavior. Reduce punishment such as discipline referrals, detentions, suspensions, and expulsions. Increase academic instruction time and reduce classroom management time. Support for students who display significant behavior challenges and their families.
Reward System
Here at Kanoheda, we reinforce positive behaviors through the use of Bridge Bucks. Bridge Bucks are earned by displaying one or more of the Kanoheda expectations of being Respectful, Responsible and Ready. Once students have earned a Bridge Buck, they may exchange it for a reward.
